Members of the Sustainability Star Jury, which chooses sustainability award recipients at the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics, were recruited according to specific criteria, Vancouver Organizing Committee (VANOC) media rep Paula Weber told Suite101. The criteria were:
- An expressed interest in the position
- Breadth and depth of expertise and knowledge of sustainable technology and innovation
- Leadership experience in developing and delivering a successful sustainability program
- Availability to attend, at own expense, up to seven three-hour meetings either in Vancouver or via conference call.
"Jury members whose organization applies for stars abstain from voting," said Weber.
