A wide range of birthday week events in Memphis, Tennessee will help kick-off the yearlong 75th birthday celebration of the King of Rock ‘n Roll. Additional events throughout 2010, across the country will celebrate the life and legacy of Elvis Presley.

Elvis Aaron Presley was born at 4.35 am on 8 January 1935 in a two-room house in Tupelo Mississippi. His mother, Gladys Presley gave birth to twins. The first Jessie Garron was stillborn; the second Elvis Aaron was healthy and would be Gladys and Vernon’s only child.
Elvis was named after his father Vernon Elvis Presley and Mr Presley’s close friend in Tupelo, Aaron Kennedy.
